Lineage Societies

There are many States, areas and groups that have lineage societies. This list will be updated with organizations that we find and that members might be able to join. As connections are made, we will provide all the documentation necessary so that you too can join.

Top Priority

Organizations we know we can join. Some of them through multiple family members.

Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution

James Wiley, John Dick, Nicholas Jasper, William Spears, and perhaps George Crain.

Iowa - Statehood, Pioneer and Centennial Certificates

John Lawson (grandfather of Grammie Crain) qualifies for this.

For people who settled in Iowa before 1856.

Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War

Henry Welty - 68th Ohio. Crain side - John Lawson.

National Society Descendants of American Farmers

Descendants of American farmers who were living within the present boundaries of the contiguous continental states of the United States of America between July 4, 1776 - July 4, 1914.

Many relatives qualify for this organization.

Ohio Society - First Families of Ohio

The Welty family qualifies for this organization.

Further Investigation

These groups are harder to determine, or only relate to a few specific ancestors

Oregon - Pioneer Certificate Project

The Sams family members qualify through Asa Sams (Milfred Sams father)

Root Cellar Pioneer Certificates

Samuel Allen Dick was in California in the 1850's. We are investigating if he qualifies.

Wichita County Pioneer Certificates

The Welty, Dick, Rogers, Hudson families were in Elk Falls, Kansas in this time. Investigation is on-going.

Society of California Pioneers

Another Samuel Allen Dick membership possibility

If you know of other lineage societies please let us know, or ask us to investigate one.
